Mike Bush, owner and developer of Bar 3 Range, had a vision in 2015 when the Jones County SWAT Team asked if they could use his field to shoot long distance for practice. Mike was interested in why there wasn’t a range close by that they could use for practice on long range shooting. After talking with the team, Mike visited a shooting range in Louisiana. It was then he said, “I can build on of these!” Mike has been in construction work for over 40 years, so he got a bulldozer, backhoe, and dump trucks and started the development of Bar 3 Range in August of 2015. Mike started this as a “hobby” after his retirement. He soon found out it would turn into a full-time job! He brought his daughter, Jennifer, on board full time as the General Manager in 2017.
Bar 3 Range started as a range that offered 600-yard Mid-Range shooting, 1,000-yard Long-Range shooting, 100-yard rifle range and 30-yard pistol range. Mike soon saw the need to add a sporting clay course in July of 2018. Bar 3 Range is a certified registered range with the NRA as well as a registered range with the National Sporting Clay Association.
